Video clip from "Golden March" 2021

In 2019 I participated in a three-month residency at the Joan Mitchell Foundation, New Orleans. It was here where I first became interested in jewelry-making and fashion as potential directions within the mythology. Second line parades, Mardis Gras costuming and the rich musical traditions of New Orleans were profound influences in this body of work. In the performance “Golden March” I utilized the costume as a kind of musical, sound-making apparatus.
